Many insurance companies instituted waivers of copays and deductibles during the COVID crisis. However, they terminated those waiver provisions in late July. This means from that point forward, copays and deductibles will be required.
Since the insurance companies notified us about the waiver termination after the fact (in August), there will be some of you who owe copays for previous sessions that we thought were waived, but later discovered they weren't.
Also, because we can’t absolutely verify how much you owe per session until we receive the insurance claim notice from them (days/weeks after the session), there might be some glitches in this transition. For instance, depending on the COVID situation, the insurance companies might reinstitute the waivers. You also receive these claim notices from them so you are able to see the same information that we do.
If you feel sick with cold or flu-like symptoms, stay home out of precaution. Common COVID-19 symptoms are cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. If you experience these symptoms, contact your doctor or the ER immediately. If you have had contact with an infected person your symptoms should develop within 14 days. Most people develop symptoms around day 5 after contact.
